MICRO AIR VEHICLE FOR ALLIED AEROSPACE
Situation
This DARPA funded program contracted IMS to perform systems engineering and embedded software and firmware design and development on unmanned micro air vehicles for the US Military.
Solution
IMS was responsible for creating detailed requirements documentation, formal design, implementation of embedded software to interface differential GPS, INS & embedded flight control software, and air-to-ground UAV communications. Software and firmware was developed for a DSP based embedded controller, was tested using a combination of software unit test methodologies combined with emulators provided by the DSP vendor.

Software development used C, A proprietary embedded operating system, communications with air vehicle navigation, instrumentation and flight control elements, telemetry interfaces between air vehicle and ground stations.
